Italian restaurant chain Zizzi is on track to open 10 more sites this year Azzurri Group CEO Steve Holmes has said.

The company, owned by ASK Italian owner Azzurri Group, has opened four new sites in the UK in the last month - at Bradford's Broadway development, Leeds Birstall retail park, Newport's Friar's Walk shopping centre and Birmingham's Brindley Place.

Its first site in Ireland will follow in April with a 90-cover restaurant opening at Dundrum Town shopping centre in Dublin.

All new restaurants will feature Zizzi's signature open kitchen, wood stone ovens and the use of rustic log walls, trees and bespoke artwork and will take the estate up to 143.

Azzurri Group CEO Steve Holmes said the new openings continued 'a steady period of growth' for Zizzi which would continue this year.

“The restaurants are all in fantastic locations and we’re excited to open the doors to a host of new visitors, allowing us to showcase the full Zizzi offering including our spring menu which launches on the 15 March," he said.

“We are delighted with the performance of Zizzi; this is an exciting time for the brand, continuing its steady pace of rollout. We’re expanding quickly, with four new openings in a month plus entry into Ireland in April which will bring our estate to 143 in total and 145 by the end of the financial year.”
