The company, run by chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin, will open Galvin at the Athenaeum on the ground floor of the 164-bedroom Mayfair hotel in May.
Athenaeum general manager Jeremy Hopkins, who is overseeing a major refurbishment of the hotel's exterior and ground floor space, said it was an 'exciting move' for both companies who shared the 'same ethos, values and ambitions'.
"The restaurant will be 'Galvin at the Athenaeum' but as yet the bar is un-christened with six names being considered. Galvin Restaurants will be running the entire F&B operation at the hotel," he said.
"More news on the design, look and feel from the KKD Partnership will be announced in the coming weeks."
The restaurant will become Galvin Restaurants' fifth in the capital and its seventh in the UK. Last month, following the opening of Galvin HOP, part of Galvin Pub Company, Jeff Galvin told BigHospitality, the company had been forced to consider other options for expansion due to the rising price of restaurant sites in London.
Re-launch
As part of its four month refurbishment, which started on 4 January, Athenaeum Hotel and Residences has recruited Camille Lorigo as its new marketing manager. Lorigo, previously brand manager at D&D London, will be responsible for helping to re-launch the hotel.
“We are delighted to have attracted Camille to help us with the re-launch of The Athenaeum following our current extensive re-fresh,” said Hopkins. “She has huge experience and a reputation as a creative director we will be tapping into to help us create stand-out in London’s increasingly competitive luxury hotel market.”
