Daniel Galmiche leaves The Vineyard Hotel
Daniel Galmiche has announced that he will leave his position as head chef at The Vineyard Hotel, Newbury, at the end of January.

Galmiche, who joined the restaurant in 2009, is yet to announce his future plans.

Previous to his position at The Vineyard, Galmiche headed Michelin-starred restaurants including Harvey’s Restaurant in Bristol and Waldo’s in Cliveden, Berkshire.

He will be replaced at the hotel by Amberley Castle chef, Robby Jenks, who has worked under the likes of Michael Caines MBE at Gidleigh Park and Martin Burge at Whatley Manor.

He worked his way up the ranks at Gidleigh Park under Caines from commis chef to senior sous chef.

Jenks said: “I want to be in the kitchen as much as possible leading from the front and developing a team of people around me. The Vineyard has always been about the food and wine so I will have a fantastic platform to evolve my cooking style and develop even further.”
