Stanneylands Hotel bought for £4m
Former Prima Hotels property, Stanneylands Hotel, has been bought by the owners of The Mere Golf Resort & Spa for £4.15m.

The Lancashire hotel becomes the second from the Prima portfolio to be purchased this week, following on from the purchase of Nunsmere Hall in Cheshire.

The properties were put up for sale after Prima Hotels entered administration in May.

The 4-star hotel, based 10 minutes away from Manchester Airport, has 55-bedrooms and a 2 AA Rosette restaurant.

Mark Boler and Gary Corbett had been searching for a new location to grow The Mere brand for the past year and they plan to reposition the property as a boutique country house hotel in the early summer.

Corbett said that he is confident that both existing and new guests will be attracted to stay at the hotel.

“The strategic acquisition of The Stanneylands allows us to transfer the operational and customer experience that we are renowned for delivering at The Mere to The Stanneylands , coupled with our plans to improve the product and services on offer,  we are confident that this will delight existing guests as well as attract new customers,” he said.

“The Stanneylands product and reputation is a perfect fit to spearhead our ambition to grow the operation of The Mere brand."

Boler said: “We're delighted to be the new owners of The Stanneylands, a hotel that has an amazing history and reputation in the local market. We are really excited about the investment planned, getting to know the team and in restoring this hotel to its former glory with a little twist of Mere magic.”

Located in tranquil countryside only 10 minutes from Manchester Airport, the award winning 4 Star Stanneylands country house hotel Cheshire offers 55 bedrooms including deluxe suites, executive accommodation and fine dining in the 2 AA Rosette Restaurant plus the contemporary Calico Café Bar.
