M Restaurants Victoria Street opens six months early

M Restaurants has opened M, Victoria Street six months ahead of schedule due to the ‘huge success’ of its Threadneedle Street branch, says its founder, Martin Williams.

The restaurant, which is split into two areas, opened on 5 December and received over 1,500 bookings in its first 24-hours of operation.

The M Grill dining room specialises in steaks from around the world, including the Kobe and Wagyu beef, while M Raw will focus on ‘lighter, delicate dishes’ including Sashimi, Grains and Bento Boxes, based on a ‘eat clean’ philosophy.

The kitchen will be headed up by executive chef, Michael Reid, previously of Le Gavroche, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Vue de Monde Melbourne and The Skinny Duck. Alongside this is a cocktail bar and a wine store.

The restaurant’s private dining room includes a secret member’s bar with a six-seat cinema, bottle lockers, fireplace and DJ booth.

Williams said: “Due to the huge success of the award winning M Threadneedle Street, I’m delighted to be in a position to open our new restaurant six months ahead of schedule. I’m really proud of the new additions to the menu where ingredients are the hero – and excited to be one of the very first luxury restaurants to open in Victoria as it becomes the next London hotspot for work, food, drink and play

“Bringing Michael Reid back to the UK to join us full time is a real coup. He is one of the most talented chefs of his generation and an expert in ‘world food’. I can’t wait for his impact to hit the London restaurant scene.

“M Victoria Street, is as close to multi-faceted restaurant perfection as I can create.”
