Albert Adria residency to run at London's Café Royal

Spanish chef Albert Adria is to take up a 10 week residency at London hotel Café Royal next year.

Adria, chef-patron of Tickets, Pakta, Hoja Santa, Nino Viejo in Barcelona and Heart Ibiza in Ibiza and a team of chefs will take over the hotel's Oscar Wilde Bar and Domino Restaurant from 12 February to 9 April.

50 Days by Albert Adria, as it will be known, will be Adria's first project outside of his home country and will see the chef present special drinks and food menus for the hotel.

A spokesperson said Adria, who saw Tickets enter the World's 50 Best Restaurants list at number 42 earlier this year and was named Best Pastry Chef, would be present for much of the residency, but could not guarantee he would be cooking throughout.

Café Royal, part of The Set collection of hotels, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The five-star hotel, previously a restaurant and club shut in 2008 before it was renovated and re-opened in 2012 as a luxury 159-bedroom hotel.
