Plans to build a Crowne Plaza and adjoining Holiday Inn Express at Heathrow's T4 have been given the go-ahead. 

The 300-bedroom Crowne Plaza London - Heathrow T4 and the 450-bedroom Holiday Inn Express London - Heathrow T4 will be operated under a franchise agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and managed by Arora Hotels. 

Work on the hotels will be overseen by Grove Developments, the construction arm of The Arora Group, with both expected to open in 2018. Both projects are being funded by LJ Group. 

Robert Shepherd, chief development officer, Europe at IHG said: “We’re delighted to be working with Surinder Arora and his team on another exciting development. Dual branded hotel developments are attractive for hotel investors because of the significant cost savings and operating efficiencies; and they give guests a choice of two great hotels in the one location depending on their needs."

The Arora Group founder and chairman Surinder Arora, whose company manages and operates IHG's latest London hotel The InterContinental London - O2 and also Heathrow hotel the Sofitel at Terminal 5 said: "This exciting scheme presents the second opportunity for us to work together with Heathrow Airport Limited to bring another best in class facility to Heathrow, this time in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group. We are also delighted to have on board our other key partner, LJ Group with whom we share a common goal of launching an outstanding hotel as well as creating a long term investment opportunity.” 

Crowne Plaza London – Heathrow T4 will also include business and meeting facilities including five meeting rooms and two boardrooms while the Holiday Inn Express willl be a ‘next generation’ Holiday Inn Express hotel, featuring the latest technology and an Express Café and Bar. Both hotels will be accessible to Heathrow's terminals via and air bridge.
