Marco Pierre White's Mr White's English Chophouse to open at Birmingham's Hotel La Tour

Mr White's English Chophouse, the latest restaurant brand created by chef Marco Pierre White and Black & White Hospitality, will open its first restaurant within Birmingham's Hotel La Tour next month.

The new venue will open in the space previously occupied by Aalto restaurant within the 174-bedroom hotel. It will be the first restaurant under the Mr White's Chophouse brand and Marco Pierre White's second restaurant within the city.

Mr White's English Chophouse - Black & White Hospitality's fourth restaurant brand alongside Steakhouse Bar & Grill, Marco's New York Italian and Wheeler's of St James's - will serve a range of grilled meats alongside British classics such as Welsh rarebit, Grilled oysters and Roast chicken and leek pie.

Nick Taplin, chief executive of Black & White Hospitality, said the restaurant brand aimed to revive the British chop house.

“We’ve been working on the concept for some time, but it was always on the understanding that we would need to find exactly the right home for it," he said.

“We know that Birmingham has a real appetite for affordable glamour; restaurants that offer top quality dishes in a sumptuous environment, at a price to suit all budgets.

“The final piece of the jigsaw fell into place when we discovered the Hotel La Tour. The venue itself and the team behind it give us enormous confidence that Mr White’s will be a major success.”

White's first restaurant in Birmingham - Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill - opened within Hotel Indigo at The Cube development in 2011.
