The two-storey 100-cover restaurant will open in November, 25 years after the company opened its first restaurant in the capital.
Patara, founded by restaurateur, chef and TV cook Khun Patara Sila-On, currently has four restaurants in London - Soho, Oxford Circus, Knightsbridge and South Kensington, where it first opened 25 years ago.
Nick Weir, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, who secured the site for Patara, said: “Located next door to the acclaimed Berners Tavern and London Edition Hotel, this is an excellent site for Patara that is in keeping with their sophisticated cuisine and the stylish settings of their other London restaurants. We are pleased to have secured such a high profile tenant for our client and this adds to our large portfolio of completions in Fitzrovia including Maple and Fitz, Big Fernand and Portland”
The Berners Street restaurant is expected to have a more 'contemporary design and feel to it' although it will be 'recognisably Patara' the company said.
As well as being in London, Patara operates restaurants in Vienna, Geneva, Singapore, Beijing and Thailand.
