Pan-Asian Restaurant Chi Kitchen opening in Oxford Street Debenhams

Asian restaurant Chi Kitchen is to open on the ground floor Oxford Street, London’s Debenhams store in the autumn.

Eddie Lim, owner of Mango Tree restaurant in Belgravia, will be bringing the new concept to the shopping chain.

The all-day menu has been influenced by Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean cuisine, and has been designed by the group’s executive chef Ian Pengelley.

Breakfast dishes on offer include Korean omelette with seafood, and Kaya Toast, with the rest of the menu being spread between dinner and lunch and served on small plates. It will include Pumpkin Korroke, Avocado Wedges, various Spring Rolls, and a selection of Dim Sum. Larger dishes will also be available, as well as curries and noodles.

Owner Lim said: “We are absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Debenhams on this exciting new project, Chi Kitchen. Our aim is to build a brand exclusively to Debenhams, which is going to offer not only good Pan Asian food but also good energy to Debenhams loyal and new customers. The food will be exotic, colourful and incredibly tasty.”

Debenhams UK director of space planning Mark Jordan said: “We are delighted to be broadening our food offer and partnering with a fantastic, unique brand such as Chi Kitchen to offer our customers an exceptional, new dining experience. We are very proud to be working with Chi Kitchen exclusively on this new concept and look forward to introducing it to our customers in the coming months.”

The brand will be exclusive to Debenhams as they plan to open more branches within their stores throughout the UK.
