It is the first time Spur is opening a site away from shopping centre food courts with the new smaller model with counter service.
RBW has a tick box menu that allows diners to customise their burger, wings or ribs as well as gourmet hot dogs with sauces and toppings. The menu includes American-inspired desserts and milkshakes.
The 90-cover restaurant opens alongside Nando’s and Prezzo in the independent Savoy cinema complex which fully opens on 31 July.
The company has plans for rapid expansion of the brand with the next sites lined up in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Spur is seeking sites between 1,900sq ft to 2,200sq ft for the model, which it plans to franchise.
David Maich, director of Spur Corporation UK, told BigHospitality's sister publication M&C Allegra Foodservice: “This smaller counter service model will ensure that our commercial benchmarks will be achieved to package a ‘franchise model’ with a proven track record. We are very excited about this concept and we are driving hard to open our first four sites before year end."
