Loubet and TZG are teaming up with Airport Retail Enterprises (ARE) to bring the first offshoot of the award-winning Grain Store restaurant in London’s King’s Cross, which ranked 43rd in this year’s National Restaurant Awards (NRA), to Gatwick in the Autumn.
The venue will have a new family-friendly menu designed with airport travellers in mind and it promises to serve diners within 15 minutes.
Dishes will be created with organic vegetables, and fish and meat from UK-based producers. It will serve a new breakfast menu designed by Loubet and the bar will stock cocktails, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and smoothies.
TZG’s Mark Sainsbury said: “Grain Store really has challenged the orthodoxy that meat and fish should be centre-stage; vegetables are the stars of the show, and we are excited to bring Grain Store’s award-winning approach to food to new audiences.
“This is Bruno cooking what he loves best, and now travellers at the airport can enjoy a delicious and healthy meal before flying.”
John Butts, director of ARE (UK) said: “Grain Store is a unique and ground-breaking concept and we are immensely proud to be bringing this to one of the world’s great airports.”
Grain Store, which picked up the award for most Sustainable Restaurant at the NRA, is the latest in a line of premium brands to open branches in airports and offer travelers a better selection, joining the likes of Starbucks, J.D. Wetherspoon, Itsu and Burger King.
