Casa Cruz London to open in July
Juan Santa Cruz, who runs the Casa Cruz, Isabel, and Aldo’s restaurants in Buenos Aires, is launching the 80-cover Casa Cruz London on the site of the former Clarendon pub.
Designed to ‘bridge a gap’ in the city’s restaurant industry, the venue is aiming to cater to both the dinner and late-night bar crowd.
Dishes will be European focused with Argentine influences, with starters including Wild Sea Bass Crudo and Artichokes with Lemon and Olive Oil.
Argentine steaks, British fish and game, and French poultry will all feature on the main menu, while desserts will include Lemon Polenta Cake, alongside home-made ice creams and sorbets.
The drinks menu will feature classic cocktails alongside a wine list with a dedicated section of organic and biodynamic bottles.
Santa Cruz described London as ‘the obvious choice’ for his next restaurant.
“London is the most vibrant city in the world. We are creating a place to cater for all experiences and an unsatisfied demand at the top end of the market,” he said.
As well as operating three restaurants in Argentina, the developers' company Santa Cruz Co. has consulted and designed for Starwood Capital in Europe and Africa, and Faena Hotels in Argentina.
Casa Cruz London will open at 123 Clarendon Road on Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm to 12.30am and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
