Work to transform the hotel's restaurant, bistro and public areas started in January with the Edwardian Restaurant re-opening as the Great Western Restaurant complete with new Champagne bar.
The Castle Bistro has re-opened as Smith’s Brasserie, named after previous owner and entrepreneur WH Smith and now features a theatre kitchen and central fire pit.
The £2m refurbishment, undertaken by interior design practice NH Interiors and overseen by Eden Hotel Collection's design director Marian Cartter, included an overhaul of the hotel's public spaces and the spa and the addition of a shop.
Eden Hotel Collection managing director Mark Chambers said work was needed to improve the hotel which had started looking 'really tired'.
“Bovey Castle is stunning and needed to be brought back to its former glory but we didn’t want to just redecorate, we wanted to make a statement and take the hotel into an exciting new era," he said.
“Bovey Castle has long been regarded as the jewel in the crown of the leisure industry in the South West. With the breathtaking transformation of our restaurants, coupled with innovative new menus, we’ve taken it to the next level and introduced an amazing new dining experience."
The £2m project is part of a multi-million pound restoration programme for the hotel and its estate, which also includes an 18-hole golf course, spa, country lodges and outdoor pursuits centre.
Its next phase will include a renovation of bedrooms and bathrooms in the main house, followed by investment in the country lodges.
"We also intend to invest in the golf course as well as in the normal maintenance works on the estate," added Chambers.
