Former Ten Bells chef to open rooftop restaurant Brooksby's Walk
Former Upstairs at The Ten Bells colleagues Giorgio Ravelli and Jarrod Cooke are opening a temporary rooftop bar and restaurant in Homerton on 2 July.

Brooksby’s Walk will be an alfresco summer venue serving a menu of Northern Italian sharing plates, a select wine list, seasonal cocktails and a weekly all day barbecue.

Originally a public toilet, the restaurant has been redeveloped in to a two storey venue with a rooftop terrace acting as the main restaurant dining area.

It is the first new venture for Ravelli and Cooke since the pair left The Ten Bells in February.

Cooke said: “After three years based above a busy pub, we are thrilled to be working under parasols.”

An evening menu will be served from Tuesday to Saturday, with the kitchen opening for lunch later in the summer.

Ravelli said: "I'm incredibly excited about our new food offering. It's a style of cuisine that I enjoy the most; sharing a feast of small plates with a table of many reminds me of home, with my father cooking of course - I'd be setting the table.”

The menu will include popular items from the pair’s time at Upstairs at the Ten Bells alongside new additions. Examples include Razor Clams, Grapefruit Sauce Vierge and Coriander; Pork Neck, Fregola Sarda and Peas; and Strawberries, Marsala cream and Ricotta Doughnuts.

An all-day barbecue will run every Sunday serving food inspired by Ravelli’s Swiss Italian roots – including Goat Sausages, Beef Feather Blade and Bone Marrow Butter; and Ginger Glazed Pork Ribs.

Ravelli and Cooke envision the restaurant as a space in which the local community can learn about wine, and will be holding regular events throughout the summer.

Though there is currently no end date set for the restaurant’s run, a representative told BigHospitality that the site would remain temporary.
