Xavier Rousset to leave Texture and 28°-50° Restaurant Group

Xavier Rousset has left Texture and 28°-50° Restaurant Group, the company he co-founded with chef Agnar Sverrisson.

The sommelier has left the business 'with immediate effect'. It is not yet known what he intends to do.

In a statement, he said: "With 28°-50° and Texture growing so successfully over the last nine years I believe that now is the right time for me to step down and pursue a new challenge.’’

The restaurant group said as a result of Rousset's departure it had appointed a new director of operations with 'a further announcement to be made in due course'

Director and co-founder Agnar Sverrisson said: “Xavier has made a huge contribution to the success of the business. I would like to thank him for his tremendous contribution over the last nine years and wish him every success in the future.”

Rousset and Sverrisson met while working at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons as head sommelier and head chef respectively and decided to go solo with the opening of Texture in 2007.

Rousset is a Master Sommelier and was the steering force behind wine workshop and kitchen 28°-50° which first opened in 2010 and now operates at three sites in London.
