The three-room B&B run by Graham Collier and Suzanne Wilson, was singled out for its warm welcome and hospitality - guests are always greeted with a first name introduction and a Cornish cream tea on arrival.
The Old Railway Yard joined five other businesses in being celebrated at an awards ceremony at The Landmark London Hotel yesterday (12 May).
Awards were given by region with The Glove House, Woodstock - a 400 year old Georgian townhouse owned by Francesco and Caroline Totta - winning the award for England, Kingsmuir House in Peebles winning Guest Accommodation of the Year for Scotland, the 12-bedroom Trefloyne Manor in Tenby awarded Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales and 'luxurious' B&B Tara Lodge in Belfast - winning the award for Northern Ireland.
San Pietro, a restaurant with 14 bedrooms, in Scunthorpe, was named AA Funkiest Bed and Breakfast 2015. The business, run by Pietro and Michelle Catalano was singled out for the 'stylish decoration' of each room with unusual wallpapers and fabrics plus limited release artwork adorning the walls.
Simon Numphud, head of hotel services at The AA, said the range of establishments honoured demonstrated 'the strength and depth that the B&B market offers in the UK'.
"The quality and individuality really stand out underpinned by great hospitality from their respective, highly committed and passionate owners," he said.
