Jason Atherton and Bone Daddies among restaurants opening in Victoria's Nova development

Eighteen new restaurants, including sites from Jason Atherton, D&D London and Bone Daddies, are to open as part of a new dining quarter in Victoria in 2016.

Seven operators have so far been confirmed for the Nova development, which aims to convert the area in to a new foodie destination.

Jason Atherton will expand his growing portfolio of restaurants with the opening of a new Italian dining concept. The restaurant will feature a pasta room where diners will be able to see their food being prepared.

Ross Shonhan is to open a fourth Bone Daddies site in the development, his sixth Japanese restaurant in the capital.

The two-storey site will feature an outdoor space and introduce a contemporary take on Osaka-style Okonomiyaki alongside its signature ramen.

Restaurateur Will Ricker will open two new concepts at the development. American BBQ offering The Stoke House will cook cuts of brisket, ribs, chicken and pulled pork using wood burning pits.

Juice Well, Ricker’s second juice press site, will open directly opposite and feature super food smoothies and a ‘nutrient dense’ food store.

After successfully re-launching Mayfair restaurant Quaglino’s, restaurant group D&D London will open a 10,000 sq.ft site over two floors. A café, bar, outdoor terrace and food shop will occupy the ground floor, with the restaurant opening upstairs.

Adam White, co-founder of restaurant collective Village London – which owns The Garrison, Village East & Riding House Café – will develop a 150-cover all day dining offering. The site will feature a large outside seating area, upstairs bar and a private dining room.

Sourced Market, which opened the first produce market in a train station in St Pancras in 2009, opens its third site at Nova in 2016. The team will bring a blend of market retail and all-day dining to Victoria.

London's evolving food scene

Nova is being developed in a partnership between commercial property company Land Securities and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) as part of a £2bn development pipeline for the area.

“The last couple of decades has seen London’s food offering evolve, diversify and improve to equal that of Tokyo, New York or Paris,” said David Atcherley-Symes, retail leasing director, London Portfolio at Land Securities London.

“With the world’s best talent arriving, and the continued strengthening of our domestic talents, London now acts as a smorgasbord of culinary delights.

“Nova will be a central location that brings all of this together in a fun, fresh setting. The brands and dining concepts already confirmed to be opening in 2016 are places we know Londoners want to eat and spend time in. Nova, Victoria will be a true destination in the heart of London, and a place we’re proud to be creating.”
