Tom Oldroyd to open first solo restaurant in June
Tom Oldroyd will open Oldroyd on Upper Street after five years with the restaurant group.
The 40-cover site will be spilt across two floors, with a relaxed no reservations café feel downstairs and bistro-style dining upstairs.
A daily-changing menu will be available for lunch and dinner and reflect Oldroyd’s 15 years of restaurant experience, as well as his travels throughout Europe and the US.
Dishes will include small plates such as Confit Mustard Duck Wings and larger options such as Cornish Chorizo, Prawn and Broad Bean Paella, with Cockles and Aioli, priced from £4 through to £10.
A weekend brunch menu will offer ‘the perfect hangover cure’ with options such as Bacon and Egg Pappardelle, as well as a Bloody Mary and cold pressed juice list.
“I am excited to announce that I’ve secured a small, but perfect, space in one of my favourite parts of London and will open my first restaurant on Upper Street in Islington this June,” said Oldroyd.
“The menu will offer my take on classic European dishes, made using fresh quality ingredients and served all day. I really hope that Oldroyd will become an integral part of the Islington dining scene, offering relaxed service and delicious food to locals and visitors alike.”
Oldroyd will open on 344 Upper Street, located five minutes’ walk from Angel tube station.
