Homeslice to open second London restaurant

Former pop-up pizzeria Homeslice has announced plans to open a second permanent restaurant site in London this summer.

The business, set up by Mark Wogan and Ry Jessup, has found a site in Wells Street, Fitzrovia for a 70-cover restaurant, underground cocktail bar and dedicated takeaway space. It will also feature an extended outdoor area.

Jessup said although Wells Street Homeslice would have the same core offering of 20" wood-fired pizzas, locally sourced lager, craft beer, wine by the magnum and prosecco on tap, it would have a different 'look and feel' to the original Homeslice at Seven Dials with warm woods, reclaimed lighting and traditional tiling featuring.

“From starting out with a hand-built wood-fire oven on the streets of east London, it’s really incredible to see how far we have come. It’s great to see customers sharing in our appetite for quality, seasonal produce and embracing the unique flavour combinations that have become the hallmark of the Homeslice menu.

"While the Wells Street space offers the scope to develop our offering, we will remain true to our original aim, to serve up the pizza we want to eat and create a neighbourhood pizzeria.”

Wogan said expansion gave the business a chance to take the concept to a wider audience.

"We will continue to keep it simple with the emphasis on quality,” he added. “The Seven Dials mix of locals and overseas visitors have been very kind to us. We aim to create an atmosphere that Fiztrovia will take to in the same way.”
