Holographic receptionist among innovations at COSMO's new £2m flagship Nottingham site
COSMO Authentic World Kitchen is the first UK restaurant to feature a holographic receptionist to welcome visitors in its lobby, and is introducing a 'food board' concept designed to reduce food waste.
Reflecting the brands' 'East Meets West' concept, traditional plates have been replaced with smaller, individual dishes. Though diners are free to serve themselves as much as they like, the dishes limit portion sizes and slot into a specially designed dining board mounted on each table top.
The 250-cover site is regarded as the company’s new flagship outlet, with two VIP rooms, three main separate kitchens and eight live cooking stations – including La Cuisina Italiana, House of Spice, and World of Asia. The restaurant serves 150 dishes from world cuisines including Japanese, Brazilian and Thai.
“COSMO is officially the country’s favourite world buffet operator and we have earned that distinction by continually pushing back the boundaries of food, décor and service within what continues to be an extremely competitive area of the restaurant market,” said James Brion, a partner of the COSMO restaurant group and its creative director.
“We are taking all of that to another level in Nottingham, with a host of ideas that we are confident will bring a new experience to the city’s thriving eating-out scene.”
The Nottingham site is the 17th UK outlet from the COSMO restaurant group and the company's third opening in the past 12 months, following Glasgow and York.
A CGA Peach survey of UK restaurant brands earlier this year ranked COSMO second for overall customer satisfaction and value for money.
COSMO Authentic World Kitchen is open Monday – Sunday at Trinity Square, Milton Street, 1st Floor, Nottingham, NG1 3EN.
