Bel & The Dragon at The Swan will open its doors on 19 May with nine en-suite bedrooms, a 50-cover restaurant and private dining room following a 10 month £800k revamp of the Swan Hotel.
As with existing Bel & The Dragon sites in Windsor, Reading, Odiham, Godalming, Cookham and Churt, the site at Kingsclere will offer guests a 'cosy and classic' environment designed by Nicola Harding with British food and international wines on the menu.
Bel & The Dragon group executive chef Ronnie Kimbugwe has created the menu designed to use as much local produce as possible. Dishes include Sustainable Fish Pie and English Veal Bolognaise, Roasted Suckling Pig, Warm Gooey Gluten Free Chocolate Fondant with Salted Caramel Ice Cream and Sipsmith Vodka & Lemon Zest Sorbet.
House wines- a Syrah Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc - will be served from a magnum with customers only charged for the volume drunk with a number of vintages available from the From the Cellar list.
Longshot Country Inns founder and director Joel Cadbury said: “We are delighted to be opening Bel and the Dragon at The Swan in Kingsclere. We will restore this stunning historic building to its former glory, so that it is once again the heart of the community. Our focus is on seasonal and local produce, as well as using the best of British ingredients. Whether joining us for lunch, tea or dinner, or even spending the night, we hope to make people feel at home.”
Cadbury said the latest site formed part of a continuous search for suitable locations to expand the Bel & The Dragon portfolio.
