Jar Kitchen is the brainchild of first time restaurateurs of Lucy Brown and Jenny Quintero, a former model agent and publishing manager who will both work front of house in the restaurant.
Set over two floors, the 50 cover site opens from morning to early evening, serving breakfast, lunch, and pre theatre dinner.
Most food and drink is made from scratch, including the granola, yoghurt, kombucha and ginger beer, and there are plans for the restaurant to start smoking its own meat.
The menu will soon feature a range of takeaway lunches served in re-usable kilner jars, that guests can bring back to be washed and refilled.
Co-founder Lucy Brown said: “We wanted to create a restaurant where we would want to go. We took our savings, left our jobs and just jumped right in. Jar Kitchen is the perfect place to relax, have fun with friends and eat quality, freshly prepared food. What’s not to love?”
