Restaurateur Eddie Lim has expanded his Pan Chai restaurant brand with the launch of a new casual dining concept in Bicester Village, Oxfordshire.

Pan Chi petite has initially opened as a pop-up restaurant running until 12 April. The restaurant has 12-covers around a serving counter, with additional seating outside, and is serving a menu of small plates including sushi and dim sum as well as mains such as nasi goreng, Thai green curry, Vietnamese Pho, and black cod with sweet soy glaze. Asian soft drinks such as Malaysian pulled tea, glass jelly and Bubble Tea are also available.

“We are delighted to be expanding the Pan Chai brand with the launch of casual dining concept Pan Chai petite," said Lim. "Diners can expect the same high level of cuisine Pan Chai offers, but in a slightly less formal setting and at a lower price point.”

Pan Chai opened in Harrods Food Hall in 2012, serving a range of fresh Pan-Asian dishes created by executive chef Ian Pengelley.

Last year, the brand launched three franchise models in a bid to roll the Pan Chai concept out in city-centre locations across the UK, but no franchisees have been found yet.

Lim also runs Mango Tree at Harrods, and recently opened his third restaurant at the department store, Chai Wu, serving a menu of modern Chinese cuisine
