Byron and Browns voted most satisfying restaurant brands
The restaurant chains were joint leaders of CGA Peach’s BrandTrack survey, both leaving 50 per cent of customers ‘very satisfied’ with their visit.
Buffet brand Cosmo (49 per cent), Wagamama (47 per cent) and Greene King’s Loch Fyne (46 per cent) completed the top five for customer satisfaction.
Pizza Hut, Ember, and pub restaurant Fayre and Square were rated joint worst, with just 32 per cent of customers describing themselves as ‘very satisfied’.
The ratings were based on an October 2014 survey of 5000 British adults who eat out.
Best service and quality
Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian was rated the best for service, with 43 per cent of its guests strongly agreeing that it was good. Browns (42 per cent) and T.G.I Fridays (41 per cent) were close behind.
US import Five Guys had the highest rating on food quality, with 53 per cent of its customers ‘very satisfied’. More established brands Loch Fyne (49 per cent) and Wagamama (47 per cent) were rated second and third.
Carveries and buffets were rated highest on value for money, with Crown Carveries topping the list with 45 per cent, ahead of buffet group Cosmo (42 per cent) and Toby carveries (40 per cent).
Peter Martin, vice president of CGA Peach, said: “The UK’s eating-out market is more competitive than it has ever been, and all brands have to work incredibly hard to keep their guests satisfied. These fascinating figures reveal which of them do so best, and we salute them all.”
The fastest rising brands in terms of overall customer satisfaction were Bella Italia, which rose from 22nd to 12th in the rankings, and T.G.I Friday’s, which rose from 19th to 10th place.
Giraffe saw the biggest drop in customer satisfaction, falling from 16th to 37th place between April and October 2014.
