Sanguine Hospitality director brings The Cube & Cadbury House hotels management in-house
The hotels, which were developed by Sanguine Hospitality, have been managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts since March 2013 when the US-owned company bought out the management arm of Sanguine.
However, Taplin said he was now keen to ‘have more presence’ in the business and have greater freedom to make decisions over their day-to-day running.

“It’s been a fantastic journey to develop and open these iconic hotels and the decision to bring the day-to-day operation of each venue in-house makes this a hugely exciting time,” he said. “We are keen to have more presence in the business and speed up decision making processes and react a lot quicker to the hotels day to day needs and support.
“Each venue still has a lot of potential and the best way, we feel, to develop this is to give each management team the autonomy to make the decisions as they are the ones who know the venue and the location better than anyone else.
“It will ensure both the hotels and restaurants will maintain their position as the best hotels and destination restaurants in their respective locations.”

Both hotels will now be managed by New York Italian Ltd, of which Taplin is chairman and CEO.
Taplin said the decision would not affect the day-to-day running of the hotels with the 400 members of staff employed across both properties remaining in their jobs.
The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill restaurants, in operation at both hotels will also remain in operation.
“For our guests, whether it’s business or leisure, they will continue to enjoy the unique style and quality service that has made both Hotel Indigo – The Cube, Birmingham and DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House the leading edge hotels in their areas,” said Taplin.
