Choice Hotels makes senior management appointments to further European growth
The US-based company has appointed Max Cergneux senior director, international investment and portfolio management to help grow Choice's international portfolio.
Based in Choice's London office, Cergneux, who spent eight years with Marriott International in Europe, is set to drive forward the company's growth plans through investment-led deals, multi-unit transactions and strategic partnerships.
Choice has also promoted Carl Oldsberg, previously vice president, revenue and distribution Nordic Choice Hotels to vice president international operations where he will be responsible for directing franchise service, sales, marketing and distribution from Choice's Maryland headquarters in the US.
The third appointment is Guillaume Filly, senior director, European sales and distribution. In his role Filly, who joined Choice Hotels in 2011 as sales director for France, Switzerland and Portugal, will lead the company's pan-European sales and distribution efforts across eight additional markets including UK, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Turkey.
Both Cergneux and Oldsberg will report to senior vice president, international Mark Pearce while Filly will report to Oldsberg.
Pearce said the new structure would 'enable Choice to capitalize on market opportunities and accelerate and deliver on its aggressive international brand growth plans, with a particular focus on Europe.'
“We've made tremendous strides in strengthening our European value proposition and increasing reservation delivery to our European hotels," he said. "Our strategy remains to grow and expand our portfolio throughout the UK and Europe both through organic growth as well as new development."
