Mr Trotter's heats up pork scratchings range with English Mustard
Product details:
Triple-cooked for extra crunchiness, the pork scratchings are the third flavour in the Mr Trotter range along with Original and Jalapeno Cracklings.
Mr Trotter is the brainchild of food writer Tom Parker Bowles and BBC Two Great British Menu judge Matthew Fort. They teamed up with Cotswold farmer Rupert Ponsonby and RayGray Snacks to bring the brand to life.
USP:
Unlike most other scratchings, which are made from imported Danish rind, Mr Trotter’s claimed its pork scratchings are made from 100 per cent British pork. The product is Red Tractor certified, and comes with no added MSG.
To make them even crunchier, consumers are advised to take them out of the bag and warm them up for two minutes in a hot oven.
Why you should buy it:
Fort said: “English Mustard, is a smooth, elegant condiment – a brilliant, natural yellow, with the impact of a gastronomic powder keg – keen, clean, potent and brilliantly British.”
“We have harnessed that distinctive English mustard flavour for our latest pork crackling. It’s a natural combination, because Mr Trotter is British to his marrow – as sharp as a tack and as keen as mustard.”
Price:
Mr Trotter’s English Mustard Crackling is currently available from Selfridges at £1.89 per 60g bag, and through retailers, pubs, farm shops, delicatessens and garden centres.
