The group, which opened Shaker&Company in London three years ago, has secured a 4300 sq ft site at The Mailbox – Birmingham’s luxury retail and restaurant complex. It plans to invest £750,000 in the project.
Focused around the concept of ‘sharing and socialising’, Gas Street Social will offer a European menu of ‘shareable and seasonal’ dishes such as grazing boards, small plates, stone-baked flatbreads, locally sourced meats and seafood.
An extensive selection of regional and international craft beers and fine wines will be on offer alongside a cocktail menu designed by Shaker Consultancy.
The interior has been designed by local firm Spencer Swinden and takes inspiration from Birmingham’s industrial and cultural heritage as well as the ‘sharing and socialising’ theme. It will feature large sharing tables, intimate booth areas, a cosy ‘snug’ area and an outdoor terrace.
