Catering equipment specialists Mitchell & Cooper has launched the Pac’n’Vac container range for safe food storage.

Product details:

By pressing down the lid of a Pac’n’Vac container, the Vacuum Valve system expels the air with a 100 per cent airtight seal to allow it to keep food fresher for longer.

All containers in the range are 100mm deep and are freezer safe. They have colour-coordinated lids to ensure contents are easily identifiable and the risk of cross-contamination is eliminated.

They also have an optional day indicator to allow chefs to keep track of stored foods.

USP:

Unlike some of its competition, the Pac’n’Vac requires no electronic assistance or difficult processes in order to create a vacuum.

Availability:

Pac’n’Vac Containers are made and distributed by Mitchell & Cooper.

Why you should buy it:

Managing director of Mitchell & Cooper Guy Cooper said: “Initial scientific tests that we commissioned have shown significant advantages of using Pac’n’Vac over a standard non vacuum container.

“For example when a standard punnet of strawberries was split evenly, with one half placed in a Pac’n’Vac container and the other half placed in a non-vacuum container, the strawberries in the Pac’n’Vac container lasted at least five times longer.”
