The Cocktail Trading Co launches London bar
The CTC Development Bar & Table is the brainchild of bartenders Andy Mil, Elliot Ball and Olly Brading, co-owners of The Cocktail Trading Co.
The new bar will be located on Great Marlborough Street and will have 50 covers. It will be situated in the basement below all-day brasserie Central & Co, which will supply the bar with some ‘trial dishes’ for customers.
The CTC Development Bar & Table will serve a menu of ‘fun, unique and pioneering’ cocktails which will change frequently. The bar intends to be a ‘creative hub’ where bartenders can try out new cocktail concepts, collaborations, flavours and techniques.
The bar will also have a large menu of non-alcoholic cocktails which will be made using fresh, seasonal fruits and other ingredients in a bid to appeal to non-drinkers.
‘Quirky’ feel
The CTC Development Bar & Table will be designed in a manner that is ‘tasteful yet quirky’. The design will have elements of a Victoria ‘gin palace’ mixed with the feeling of industrial London.
It will feature carved wood and copper bar surroundings, green tube tiles, cast iron and marble tables, raw brickwork and other ‘classic’ pub fixtures. There will also be street art exhibitions from young artists on display as well as a collection of cocktail memorabilia and paraphernalia.
The bar will also have a strong music focus, playing a range of tracks from old-school hip hop to 70s and 80s funk to cheese.
The Cocktail Trading Co
This will be The Cocktail Trading Co’s first bar, as previously the company specialised in bar operations and consulting on the drinks industry in areas such as menu and cocktail design, consumer training, and brand creation.
The group intend to open more bars in time and will operate a ‘co-operative company structure’ where 25 per cent of the profits made at a bar will belong to the team operating that outlet.
