Brindisa Tapas Kitchens secures Soho site

Brindisa Tapas Kitchens has confirmed it will open its fifth London restaurant in Soho next February.

The group has secured a 3445 sq.ft site on Rupert Street in a deal with Shaftesbury PLC. The new restaurant will join Brindisa’s existing locations in London Bridge, Soho’s Broadwick Street, South Kensington and Shoreditch.

“We are very excited to be opening in the heart of the West End. Rupert Street is a wonderfully discreet yet central location in vibrant Soho and we know that Brindisa Tapas Kitchens can rise to this opportunity to further strengthen the dining offering,” said founder Monika Linton.

Brindisa’s finance director Ratnesh Bagdai said the company was excited about the potential of the new Soho site, which is located close to new Jerusalem concept restaurant, The Palomar.

“The Piccadilly Circus and Chinatown areas are not only an automatic expansion to the thriving Soho scene; the attraction for us is to serve the masses of tourists and general public who frequent and visit our great city,” he said.

“Shaftesbury has the pedigree and caliber to attract and manage a great portfolio of ventures now assembling on Rupert Street and beyond.”

Shafetesbury is a long-term real estate investor in London’s West End and has 14 acres of holdings concentrated in areas including Chinatown, Soho, Carnaby, Seven Dials and Covent Garden.

“We are delighted to welcome Brindisa’s latest concept to Rupert Street. Their passion and vision for contemporary Spanish cuisine makes Brindisa the perfect addition to the street,” said Julia Wilkinson, responsible for restaurant lettings and strategy at Shaftesbury.

“This letting further strengthens Rupert Street as a prime Soho dinning hub.”
