Ramada brand to open 20 new UK hotels
Lester Hotels, the ‘preferred management partner’ for Wyndham in the UK, will manage all of the new properties.
The first two new Ramada hotels, Ramada Resort Cwrt Bleddyn and Ramada Leicester Stage, will open next month. A third hotel in Finchley in north London will open in 2015.
Chief executive officer and chairman of Lester Hotels Management Services Limited Simon Lester said: “We are delighted to extend our association with Wyndham Hotel Group and become a preferred management partner, and we have already developed an excellent working relationship with its UK team.
“The diversity and appeal of the Ramada brand in the UK perfectly complements both our own portfolio and a number of current opportunities and we look forward to opening more Wyndham Hotel Group branded properties in the UK over the next few years.”
Vice president of development for UK and Europe at the Wyndham Hotel Group Nima Davoodzadeh agreed and said the group hoped to ‘aggressively accelerate’ the Ramada brand in the UK.
“Ramada offers significant development potential for owners looking for a renowned brand, award-winning marketing, and an extensive global distribution system,” she explained.
New hotels
The 45-bedroom Ramada Resort Cwrt Bleddyn will be located in Usk in Wales. It will have a fitness centre, an indoor pool, a ‘luxury’ spa with treatment rooms, and a number of function rooms including the Crystal Suite, which will be able to cater to up to 200 guests. It will also offer free Wi-Fi throughout.
Ramada Leicester Stage will be located in Leicester and will have 79 standard and executive rooms. It will also have an indoor pool, a sauna and fitness centre, five different meeting rooms and a number of food and drink outlets, which will include the Lester’s Bar and Restaurant.
In addition to signing the Lester Hotels development agreement, the Wyndham group has taken over the management of Ramada Encore Leicester this year, and has opened a franchised hotel in Oxford. It plans to open two more Ramada hotels in Wakefield and Hounslow before the end of the year.
