Details released for Tulse Hill Hotel
The 19th century former public house has undergone a £1.5m renovation and will reopen as a nine-bedroom hotel complete with restaurant and bar. It also boasts a lounge area, a private dining room for 14 people, and a landscaped garden with a seating area for guests.
The exterior of the building has been taken back to its brick core, while the original signage and copper lanterns have been retained. The interior features design aspects including wooden parquet flooring, classic black and white tiling, wooden panelling and a reclaimed 1920s bar.
General manager of the Tulse Hill Hotel Jemma Kiddle said: “The Tulse Hill Hotel is everything you would want in a local boutique hotel.
“We hope it will offer residents, tourists and local businesses an everyday treat and a destination for special occasions.”
Accommodation
The boutique hotel will offer a varied choice of rooms. It has one single room and three standard doubles, each with en-suite shower rooms. It also has two feature rooms which come with sofa beds, making them suitable for families, and three superior doubles which can be converted into twin rooms. Feature and superior double rooms are fitted with a separate bath.
The bedrooms have been designed in monochrome and feature white linen sheets accented by brightly coloured fabrics around the rooms.
Bar and restaurant
The restaurant at the Tulse Hill Hotel will be run by head chef Daniel Stevens, previously of River Cottage and L'Atelier des Chefs. There will be an open kitchen with a robata grill and rotisserie, and a chef’s table seating up to five people.
The menu will utilise seasonal British ingredients and includes dishes such as the LA Grand Central Market burger, sea bass, pork belly and celeriac, and lemon tart.
The bar will offer six ales on rotation, with a focus on London cask producers. There will also be 10 draught products including guest lagers like Camden Pilsner and Truman’s Pale Ale. The large wine list will concentrate on organic and biodynamic wines.
