Village Urban Resorts will open its first Scottish hotel in Aberdeen this December following a £21m investment.

The 148 bedroom hotel, located 6 miles from Aberdeen airport, is one of three Village properties to open in Scotland over the next two years. The next will open in Edinburgh in January 2015, followed by Glasgow in summer 2015.

The Village Urban Hotels will feature the distinctive ‘Black Box’ design, and provide free Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions and modern furnishings in all rooms.

The Aberdeen hotel will feature 46 luxury UpperDeck rooms with Sealy Sweet Dreams beds, Bose speaker docks, Starbucks products and Sky Movies & Sports package.

The onsite the Velocity Health and Fitness Club will include a state-of-the-art gym,a  20m swimming pool and a Viva Urban Spa offering ESPA beauty and relaxation treatments.

F&B will include an Urban Bar & Grill with private dining room and Starbucks Coffee House.

The hotel will also feature an Events HUB offering meeting room capacity for up to 200, as well as a dedicated event organiser, conference café and breakout area. A dedicated special events planner will offer wedding planning services.

Scottish growth

Scotland's hotel sector has enjoyed phenomenal growth​ over the past 12 months, with the Commonwealth Games and Edinburgh Festival helping drive record room rates in Scottish cities.

Aberdeen has been identified as a particular hotel hotspot as a result of the demand created by the city's oil and gas sector.
