From 6-24 October, UK and US travellers are being asked to nominate hospitality employees that have made a trip in the past 12 months special, giving details on how that person went above and beyond the call of duty.
The winners will be announced later this year and promoted on the TripAdvisor website.
TripAdvisor said it decided to launch the awards after conducting consumer research which revealed that two thirds (68 per cent) of Brits don’t think hospitality professionals receive sufficient recognition for their efforts.
Nearly half (47 per cent) of UK travellers surveyed said they had received ‘exceptional’ service several times over the past year and almost nine out of 10 (88 per cent) said they returned to a hospitality business as a direct result of the service they received there.
“Hospitality professionals can be the difference-maker between what makes a trip simply good or absolutely amazing, and TripAdvisor wants to help shine a spotlight on those who do it best,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
“The Exceptional Service Awards are a way for our travellers to publicly recognise and celebrate hospitality professionals who went the extra mile to make guests feel special.”
Nominations can be made via the Exceptional Service Awards website
