New FriPura filter claims to increase life of cooking oil

FriPura has launched a new filter which it claims will double the life of cooking oil used for commercial fryers in pubs and restaurants.

Product details:

The FriPura filter is a small ceramic block which sits in the bottom of a fryer and absorbs some of the harmful elements created naturally during the frying process, as well as reducing the amount of oil absorbed by the food.

It is suitable for use by pubs, restaurants and other commercial kitchens using large quantities of cooking oil.

USP:

FriPura says independent tests show the filter significantly extends the life of cooking oil – sometimes by more than 100 per cent - generating cost savings as well as cutting the volume of oil being sent for waste.

By reducing the amount of oil that the food absorbs during cooking, it also improves the quality of the food being fried and reduces associated health risks.

Why you should buy it:

Michael Hall, head chef at The Farm, Solihull, part of The Lovely Pub Company, said: “After using the filters it has become apparent that they are successfully extending the life of our fryer oil – it used to be changed every 2.5 days whereas now it lasts for five days, doubling the life of the oil and saving 30 litres of oil per week.

“I have also noticed that the quality of produce fried has improved after using the filters, becoming crispier and less greasy.”
