The hotel will not close for rebranding and the owners are hoping for a smooth transition from one brand to the other.
Shiraz Boghani, chairman of Supreme Hotels, told BigHospitality: “The hotel is only two years old and while we will go through some areas of refreshment we have not planned in any major refurbishment activity at the moment.”
“The hotel will not close and we are aiming for a seamless transition when the hotel rebrands in September.”
Brand change
The six-floor, 256-room hotel was built just under two years ago under a contract with IHG – the brand’s first London opening in 36 years, but Boghani believes Conrad is better suited for its location.
“The Conrad brand with its focus on individually tailored luxury is perfect for our central London location in Westminster,” he said.
John T.A. Vanderslice, global head of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Worldwide, added: “London continues to be a political, cultural, and economic powerhouse in the world, which makes it a natural destination for international travellers. We look forward to introducing Conrad London Westminster to the city of London.”
Supreme Hotels just signed another contract with Hilton to open the Hilton London Bankside next summer.
Design and features
Aimed at luxury travellers, the hotel features contemporary design, free Wi-Fi, a media hub, a dedicated club lounge, in-room technology, a 24-hour business centre, seven meeting rooms and the Whitehall Suite, which can accommodate up to 300 guests.
It will offer the Conrad Concierge mobile app, which enables travellers to customise details of their hotel stay, such as bath amenities and check-in options, before, during, and after each visit.
Conrad London Westminster will be situated at 28 Broadway, London SW1H 9JS.
