Harry Ramsden's signs franchise agreement for 10 new sites across West Sussex

Fish and chip restaurant brand Harry Ramsden’s is to open ten new outlets across West Sussex under a new franchise agreement with local businessman Ruslan Kyshtoobaev.  

The outlets will open in the area between Chichester and Worthing, and include a mix of full service restaurants with takeaway facilities and the smaller format ‘traditional locals’ under the Harry Ramsden's brand.

The first 80-cover outlet will open in Worthing before the end of 2014 on the site of the former Connaught Corner Cafe Restaurant, and Kyshtoobaev is currently searching for further sites.

“The details of the final mix of outlets will be dependent on the location and size of unitsavailable however we anticipate creating in the region of 100 new jobs as a result of this agreement,” he said.

Aggressive expansion

Harry Ramsden’s has been pursuing aggressive expansion through franchise agreements in recent months, with this latest deal following the signing of an agreement for 50 new outlets in Yorkshire and 50 new outlets in Scotland within five years.

The brand has also partnered with motorway services operator Welcome Break, opening outlets at services in Woodall, Oxford and Birchanger Green.
