Nick Taplin, managing director at Sanguine Hospitality told BigHospitality’s sister publication M&C Report the group is currently in advanced stages of negotiation for four venues including two in London, and hopes to have signed up 18 by the end of 2014.
“A further ten venues are already earmarked to take on the brand including The Barbican Centre, London, Manchester and Cardiff. We hope to have 18 restaurants signed up by the end of this year,” Taplin said.
Nationwide roll-out
Under the franchise agreement with Sanguine Hospitality, ten restaurants have opened since March including Cambridge and Syon Park, London, Bristol, Chester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Exeter.
The next New York Italian restaurant will open in Stratford-upon-Avon in August and the next Steakhouse Bar & Grill will open at Hotel Indigo in Glasgow in the same month.
A 150-cover New York Italian is also expected to open at the end of 2015 in a new Hotel Indigo in Manchester.
Advice for franchisees
Taplin said any franchisee wanting to enter an agreement can choose which of the two Pierre White brands they wish, but said advice would be offered on the brand that best suits a location: “It’s imperative that the right brand opens in the right place maximising the opportunity for the new franchisee.”
After five years the group will assess the value in opening more venues, Taplin said: “What we don’t want to happen is for an over-saturation of the brand compromising the quality and expectations of the customer.”
Pierre White signed a franchise agreement with Sanguine Hospitality back in March to roll out his two brands on a large national scale.
