Red Hot World Buffet to open Leicester’s biggest restaurant
The £2m renovation is believed to be the highest single restaurant investment ever made in Leicester, creating a restaurant that measures 16,000sq.ft and ranges over two floors. The Red Hot World Buffet site is located between the city’s Highcross shopping centre and the High Street, and is part of the venue that used to house the Litten Tree pub.
Chief executive of the Red Hot World Buffet group James Horler said: “After the success of the Red Hot World Buffet in cities like Nottingham, Liverpool and Leeds, we thought there would be a real taste for this kind of venue in Leicester.
“We hope to offer something for everyone. It’ll be a great destination for families to enjoy a meal out together plus with the variety and quality of food on offer; it’s an ideal place for groups of friends, work colleagues or students to have a night out.”
Food from round the world
Leicester’s new Red Hot World Buffet will be able to cater for 420 people and will boast a full bar that fronts onto the High Street. The restaurant serves a number of different types of world cuisine, including Italian, American, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and British.
“The venue will have everything under one roof including a fantastic choice of food to suit every taste from pizza and pasta to sushi and a world grill serving meats and fish,” explained Horler. “Not forgetting the range of quality desserts including 14 varieties of cake, four types of fruits, two Indian desserts and a chocolate fountain with all the trimmings.”
The new venture will also see the creation of create 70 new jobs in the locality, with positions such as management posts, chefs, waiting and bar staff. The restaurant will also offer live entertainment regularly, with the intention that customers will be able to appreciate this whether they are eating in the restaurant or just having a drink in the bar.
Red Hot World Buffet’s new site in Leicester will open 30 June.
