The Arena Summer Event aims to bring together some of the sector’s senior decision makers and allow for both networking and learning, where directors can swap ideas and make contacts. The 2014 event will feature a presentation from Loungers’ managing director Alex Reilley, as well as offering the opportunity for networking within the hospitality industry.
Industry commentator Peter Martin will be opening the event with a presentation that draws on the latest CGA Peach data to discuss what is happening at the moment concerning the eating and drinking market in the UK. Martin will also be mapping trends in the market, including health, technology, localisation and brand stretching.
Those attending will then be able to use the networking opportunities on offer as Arena hosts a drinks reception and three-course lunch, before Reilley presents on Loungers plans for expansion, branding, and how it achieved success.
Reilley and Loungers
Reilley’s Loungers brand has grown steadily in the years since he co-founded in Bristol with friends Jake Bishop and Dave Reid in 2002. The brand started a significant roll out in 2010 and also launched The Cosy Club. At the moment there are 46 Loungers sites that give an annual turnover of more than £40m and Reilley has plans to open more by the time the Arena Summer Event takes place.
The business has extensive expansion plans and is on track to open 15 more sites in 2014, with an aim to have 90 sites by the end of 2017. In his presentation Reilley will be giving an insight into the success of the fast growing café, bar and restaurant group.
Tickets to the Arena Summer Event cost £145 plus VAT for Arena members and £195 plus VAT for non-members, and those seeking more information or to attend the event can visit the Arena website: www.arena.org.uk/event/885.
