Allegra Marketing in Foodservice Conference 2014 Preview

Allegra’s second Marketing in Foodservice conference will take place this Thursday (19 June) at Vinopolis, London, and aims to help hospitality businesses improve their brand image.

Attended by marketing managers from all sides of the hospitality sector, the one-day event will present the latest campaign innovations and trends and bring together industry experts to discuss hot topics.

The programme also involved an interactive workshop and masterclass, aiming to give attendees the tools to understand and reach their customers.

Social media

Social media will be a big topic at this year’s conference, with observations from Bidvest 3663’s head of e-commerce Nicholas Weber, and a digital masterclass run by Digital Blonde’s director of social media and digital marketing Karen Fewell. During this session, Digital Blonde will reveal some of the insight into this area and a panel including representatives from Square Meal, BaxterStorey and Mars Foodservice will discuss the practicalities of implementing digital marketing activity around the topic of food.

Customer loyalty

Speakers and panellists will also raise the issue of current customer loyalty trends and their drivers. In particular, Torch’s B2B customer loyalty workshop will examine four new identified drivers and their impacts on suppliers, distributors, operators and consumers. Each driver will be explained fully and good practice examples will be presented to delegates to question and comment upon.

Supplier delegates will also be surveyed via iPads during the session to gain an understanding of how ready and equipped they feel their business is to take on the new loyalty challenges – the results of which will be presented at the end of the workshop.
