BigHospitality talks to MasterChef: The Professionals 2013 winner Steven Edwards and finalists Adam Handling and Scott Davies about what the show has changed for their business and future plans.

Life has been busy for The Camelia head chef and MasterChef winner Steven Edwards. Since the show ended in December 2013, he has participated in a number of ventures including pop-up retaurants and festivals, on top of his head chef responsibilities. "Business is booming: we've tripled the amount of covers that we would normally been doing. If you're successful on a show like MasterChef it can really put your name out there and have a positive effect on your brand and your image," he said.

For Adam Handling, head chef at The Caxton Grill, the show was an inspiration to find his cooking personality. He explained: MasterChef has changed my entire life. It made me grow and find a new style of cooking - very much more natural." His restaurant has seen a 330% increase in business since the night he lost the title to Edwards.

The show also gave more confidence to Scott Davies, head chef and recently appointed director of The Adamson. "We're looking at restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow - hopefully next year we'll have another restaurant," he added.
