Renaissance Pubs will open its seventh pub venture, The Latchmere, in Battersea next month.

An existing public house left in a poor state by its previous owners, The Latchmere has undergone extensive refurbishment inside and out.

The interior will have designated areas for drinking, eating and after-dinner lounging, while the large garden will feature a covered section with overhead and under-seat heating, a play area with a playhouse and toys for the children and a smoking area.

There will also be an exterior party room available to book for up to 12 people.

Renaissance Pubs owners Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox from said they hoped to ‘harness the heritage’ of the Victorian venue, which is ‘one of the most beautiful buildings in the local area’.

Food & drink

The Latchmere will serve traditional pub grub including fish and chips, burgers, pies and steak, as well as its own hand-crafted British charcuterie.

As with all Rennaissance Pubs, most of the meat will be sourced from the company’s farm in Hampshire, and fish will be sourced from English day boats off the South Coast.

The bar will serve hand-crafted spirits and cocktails, with a 25 litre giant Sipsmith gin balloon to sit on the bar. An extensive wine list will also be on offer alongside beers and ciders.

Renaissance will continue work with Theatre503, which is located above the Latchmere Pub, and customers will be able to walk freely between the two floors.

Tommyfield Hotel Rooms

Renaissance has also released details about its first boutique hotel, due to open above The Tommyfield in Kennington in May.

The 1,670 square foot hotel will be spread over two upper floors of the historic pub and boast a ‘21st Century British look’, with exposed brick and oak floorboards, contemporary lighting  and luxurious deep pile carpets.

The hotel’s six rooms will include two four-poster Kingside bedrooms and four Kingsize rooms, which can be spilt into twin rooms or combined into adjoining suites.

They will feature Egyptian cotton linen, free Wi-Fi, wireless Bluetooth speakers, flat screen TVs with Freeview and Nespresso machines. Each bedroom also has its own en suite bathroom, with either a shower, double shower, or roll top bath and double sink.

Renaissance has hinted that it plans to open more hotel rooms in the Capital in the near future.
