The new restaurant area and menu will be unveiled next Thursday (1 May) and is modelled on an authentic Austrian farmhouse. Bodos Schloss will also transform into a nightclub from Wednesday to Saturday and is available for hire for private events.
Menu and bar
Bodo’s Schloss head chef Jordan Sempler is launching a lighter summer menu to go along with the new restaurant area. Dishes served will include Crab, Orange and Shaved Fennel Salad with Toasted Sesame Seeds and a Green Herb Dressing, and Asparagus, Pea and Marcarpone Risotto with Basil and Aged Parmesan and Wild Cornish Seabass. Guests are able to order their food in picnic hampers to take away or eat at their tables, to go along with the ‘summer in the Alps’ feel.
The restaurant will also host ‘Fondue Wednesdays’ with cheese and chocolate fondues at night alongside other alpine dishes such as Chicken or Veal Wiener Schnitzel, House Dumplings with Nurenberger Sausages and Sauerkraut, and Lamb Goulash.
The venue’s bar will have a focus on cocktails and has a number of signature drinks including one served in a ski boot and the ‘Shot Ski’ served on a ski, which includes Raspberry Schnapps, raspberries, lemon and Champagne.
‘Après ski’ theme
Bodo’s Schloss aims to create the feeling of a ski resort in London and includes a number of unusual design features such as walls lined with skis, a DJ booth put together using a 1920s ski lift, and a model cow above the entrance (the concept’s mascot).
The new restaurant will use reclaimed wood throughout and feature red and white gingham tablecloths along with cow hide banquettes to add to the atmosphere. The staff working at the restaurant will wear traditional dirndls and lederhosen to complement the theme.
From Wednesday to Saturday Bodos Schloss will become a nightclub where guests wearing alpine dress or ski-wear can expect free entry. The venue also has a dedicated events team which can organise a range of private events and offers bespoke menus, live entertainment, DJs, bands and photography.
Bodo’s Schloss restaurant and late night bar is located at 2a Kensington High Street and is open Monday to Saturday from 5pm until late.
