Product details:
One of the sparkling wines, the Brut, is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The other wine, a Rosé, is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a hint of Malbec. Both wines are produced using traditional methods and have a dosage of 6g/l.
USP:
The Chandon sparkling wines are unique because there are very few sparkling wines from Argentina available in the UK at the moment. They are available at a price range which differentiates them from similar drinks as they are more expensive than Prosecco, but cheaper than Champagne.
Price:
RRSPs are £14.99 for the Brut and £15.99 for the Rosé.
Availability:
The wine is available from 1 May 2014. Chandon will be listed at Majestic and leading independent retailers. In terms of trade, listings have been established with Gaucho, Mitchells and Butlers premium country pubs and others.
Why you should buy it:
“The price makes these products stand out from other sparkling wines. It’s above the price of premium Proseccos, but below that of entry point Champagnes, so it’s filling a gap in the market,” said Sally Bishop of Relish PR, which is representing Chandon.
The sparkling wine category in the U.K. is reaching an all-time high in terms of volume, with premium sparkling wine growing at the fastest rate within this category.
