Mayfair hotel plays host to interactive pop-up
The Chef’s Penthouse will see chefs Simon Hulstone and Robert Wiedmaier take up residence at the hotel’s 448 sq.m penthouse from 31 March to 4 April, cooking for a maximum of 14 guests per service.
Both lunch and dinner service will include canapés on the terrace before an eight course tasting menu paired with wine from Ellis of Richmond.
Guests will also have the chance to watch the chefs in action and relax with them after the meal.
Interactive experience
Located on Park Lane, Grovesnor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living is in the site of a former home of the Dukes of Westminster.
Today it offers 130 residences ranging in size from studios to the five-bedroom penthouse, which is one of the largest in London.
US chef Wiedmaier, who was named Washington’s Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington and owns Marcel’s restaurant, he was excited by the prospect of cooking at the venue.
“What a treat to be able to interact with our guests in such an amazing setting!” he said.
Hulstone, who is chef proprietor at Michelin-starred Torquay restaurant The Elephant and was named National Chef of the Year in 2008, will be serving produce from his own farm during the week.
“London is a fantastic place to dine and I always enjoy cooking here,” he said.

London pop-ups
The Chef's Penthouse has been organised by TLF Worldwide - the production company that brought Southbank Centre pop-up The Cube to London.
Tickets are priced from £250 per person for lunch, and £275 per person for dinner.
