The Royal Albert Hall is set to open a new Italian restaurant to be operated by event caterer Rhubarb.

Following a £1m refurbishment of the former Café Consort venue, the 224-cover ‘Verdi’ restaurant will be the concert hall’s sixth dining venue when it opens on 15 April.

“We have long wanted a restaurant dining experience that matched our ambition and was genuinely open to both ticketholders and those looking for something different in SW7,” said the Royal Albert Hall’s chief operating officer Jasper Hope.

“To see that now delivered in Verdi Italian Kitchen, along with great live music every week, is very exciting, and I’m sure will be a great addition to London’s ever more sophisticated food scene.”

Verdi will be open for lunch and dinner, offering authentic Italian dishes alongside a strictly Italian wine list. Regular live music will form part of the restaurant’s casual, convivial atmosphere.

The Royal Albert Hall now has 14 bars and six dining spaces.
