USP:
Darren Robinson, sales manager at Meridian Foods, said: “We like to lead the charge rather than follow the crowd and the response to the ‘100 per cent nuts and our no palm oil’ range has given us the confidence to really kick-on and have our peanut butters enjoyed by more people, whenever and wherever they are.”
Availability:
The jars of smooth and crunchy peanut butter are available nationally, through foodservice wholesalers, from this month.
Why you should buy them:
“Research shows that there is real opportunity to broaden our offer and we’re tremendously excited to be making available to the industry a quality branded product.
“The peanut butter category grew by 7.1 per cent year-on-year and a strong market in retail indicates a sizeable demand in foodservice. Consumers tend to maintain similar eating habits in both retail and foodservice at breakfast time.
“Peanut butter’s share of the market is now on a par with marmalade and growing. It has overtaken chocolate spread as a category and we believe that our offer will stand up against other well-known single serve brands in the sector. ”
